Job Search By The Numbers

A few years ago when a good friend of mine was in the midst of his long and difficult job search, he put together a breakdown of the search once he was finally hired. I felt it would be appropriate to reinterpret (aka steal) this breakdown for my specific search. So without further adieu here is my Job Search by the Numbers:

  • Total length of job hunt: 102 days (Feb 11th - May 22nd)
    • The job search began before the 11th, but this was my first day unemployed and very "actively" searching. May 22nd is the day when I signed my contract.
  • Resumes sent out: 19
  • Total Informational Interviews/Calls: 7
  • Total number of "Real" 1st round interviews: 3
    • Total number of 2nd round interviews: 1
    • Total number of 3rd round interviews: 1
  • Rejections 2 (I never heard back from one company, though I wasn't too interested either, so I guess it was a rejection.)
  • Offers 1
So there you have it. Not too shabby and I am now very happy with the situation I have. At the end of the day, I will write about the new gig a little more in depth. Till then have a good night and I will blog with you later!

Congrats Scotty - I'm very happy for you.

But do me a favor - stop saying "Boo-Yah".
