Flying Back East (Again!)

In just a few short hours, I will be jumping on a plane for the third time in three months and heading back to the East Coast. This weekend is a big weekend as it is my sister's graduation from college and the wedding of one of my best friends. It will be a very travel filled weekend with a cross country flight today, a drive to Syracuse tomorrow, a flight back to New York City on Saturday and then a flight back west on Monday.

But this is also an important weekend for me personally, because this is in all probability my last trip back East for a very long time. After this trip, I have no major events until a wedding in November and I also use with this trip the last of my free airline tickets. (Really really good credit card promotion.) I think this will be a nice way to send off the East Coast with a weekend that is filled on one hand with an ending (my sister's graduation) and on the other, a new beginning. And upon my own return I can start anew and focus all 100% of my being on the here and now of the West Coast.

In a note of irony surrounding this trip back East, as I have mentioned this is my third trip in the three months. For each of the previous two trips, I scheduled the flights as Friday night Red Eyes in the event that my non-existent employer would need me to work or in case of the possibility of an interview, etc. In the previous cases, none of this ever came to fruition so when making plans for this trip, I just threw up my hands and choose the flights that I wanted and worked best for me. Needless to say, I received a call yesterday looking for me to come in for a follow-up interview today at the exact time as I would be boarding the plane. Alanis Morissette, please listen up, that my dear is a case of irony -- not a black fly in your Chardonnay. Now don't fret for me too much, my dear friends, because I was able to reschedule for Tuesday upon my return and I hope to come back with some good news....but we will take it day by day for now.

Now lastly on a side note, a friend of mine in her blog referred to a blog that she read in which the author wrote, "Blogging sure is a hell of a lot cheaper than therapy."
In response to that I say, thank you to all for your kind words over the past week as I went through a bit of a rough patch and I look forward to bringing you more updates with an upbeat spirit to them. So now I must quickly get ready for the flight and head back East once again. Have a great weekend to all, and I shall blog with you later.
