With Back Seeger's Against the Wind to kick me off and a great temperature outside, I inaugurated the first annual Scott M. Adams Memorial Day 10 Miler! I will be accepting applications for next year's event starting tomorrow. Checks can be made out to me. (Registration fee still to be determined, so just pay me what you think is appropriate for now!) =)
Wow! What a run! A conistent pace throughout and in the end I ran my longest run to date. While the Nike Plus clocked it at just over 11 miles, its calculations aren't always 100% accurate. As per Google Pedometer the run was about 10 1/2 miles or so. Either way it was over 10 miles and that was my goal. That also means that in having run a 10 mile distance, there is no reason I can't run a half marathon in the nearby future, which is my ultimate running goal. Not sure about a full marathon yet, but definitely the half. As for the running breakdown:
Now I'm going to hop in the shower and enjoy a Memorial Day caloric treat at Ole's Famous Waffle House. Best Breakfast joint in town, and who doesn't love waffles. I sure do!
So to everyone, have a wonderful Memorial Day! I hope it finds you at a BBQ or a party or at a locale of great enjoyment. And now for me, it is time to enjoy my last day of freedom and get back to the working world. Till next time!
