I'm going to keep this short and I will write more either tomorrow or this weekend. Just an update as I have been busy over the past few. This past weekend, I went home to New York for my friend's bachelor party. (Hence the posting below) It was a great time, watched the New York Knicks actually play a game and just had a fun time seeing friends, details of which I will not bore you with, since you were either there or don't know most of the people.
I also got to see Melanie this past weekend which was so wonderful and bittersweet due to how short the visit ended up being. Living apart is truly more difficult than I thought, and Melanie, you know I miss you. I will be going back sometime in the next month depending on how the job search goes.
Going back to New York, allowed me to be in the city as a visitor, and I will say that after doing so and then returning, I am so happy on the west coast. I may still be in the honeymoon phase, but I am loving it, which I will write more about later.
After the weekend, I came back west with my sister, which was nice and which gave me the opportunity to explore the Bay Area in some touristy ways I have not yet done. We went to Alcatraz, walked all of the Haight-Ashbury district and saw the "true" fisherman's wharf. The highlight of which had to be a man/street artist, hiding behind branches and flowers disguised as a memorial bouquet, and then jumping out at me and scaring me half to death. Good times.
Yesterday we went up to Napa and drank some great wines. We also ran the gambit of wineries, visiting a winery in a trailer park, literally, and then going to the gaudiest most pretentious winery I have ever been to. Quite the juxtaposition if I say so.
My sister left to head home this morning, and the rest of the day was catching up on a few of the things around the house and continuing the job movement. As I said I will write more shortly and till then, have a great night.
