To steal from my great friend, The Blogger formerly known as T-Shirt Guy J, this weekend I will be heading back to New York to help throw a party for my good college friend. What type of party, well a......
It will be a fun weekend and I am really looking forward to seeing a few of my good college friends, one who I haven't seen in going over a year I believe. Of course, I am counting the seconds until I can see Mel again and am now realizing that while I do ok on my own, the distance is definitely tougher than I had expected, especially when I'm out of work with not much to do each day.
But as for the weekend, it will be a great time filled with, what I like to call the three B's! Get your head out of the gutter..... It will be Bar-B-Que. Basketball, and Booze! First we are going to Hill Country Bar-B-Que, which if you visit New York is a must. Great Texas Style Bar-B-Que. Nothing will ever come close to Dinosaur BBQ, but this is pretty darn good. Afterwards, we will be going to see the lowly New York Knicks in a game against the Portland Trail Balzers, and then it will be a fun night going to some of the New York City bars. I am really looking forward to visiting New York again and taking in some of the night life. I definitely can see myself as being one of those people that say the cliche: "I love to visit New York, but I wouldn't want to live there." I am anxious to visit again and hang out, but ultimately, I am excited about getting back, having Mel finally come out here and truly living up the West Coast life. It will be a great time, and I know that all of us will make sure my friend has a rockin good time.
After the party, my sister is coming back to SF with me. We will be exploring the city, which I haven't really been able to do yet, though I have gone in on a few occasions, and we may take a trip up to Sonoma or Napa for a quick Wine visit. It will be a fun time and it will be nice to have someone living with me for the time being.
In other news: I had a HUGE interview on Wednesday that I think went very well and I am feeling good about my prospects. Now it is just that terrible waiting part. I would really love this to work out, but I will be continuing to look at other places, continue my networking and applying for open positions. So if everyone could just say a word/prayer of good luck for me and hope it all works for the best.
Lastly, a running update: Today I got in a really nice 5 or so mile run and really started to feel better. I'd say I'm at about 70-75% of runner lung capacity. Give it a little bit more and I should be able to really increase the mileage. I also ran to possibly the best running music compilation ever. I ran, as I sometimes do, to the soundtrack from Rocky Balboa: The Best of Rocky. It's all the best music from all of the Rocky movies, including some funny, if not cheesily inspiring dialog interludes. After removing a few of the slower, love songs included in the compilation, it is perhaps the greatest running mix ever. Whenever I need my best run, I turn it on.
So there you have it, a great interview, a good run, and a weekend filled with Tom Hanks and Adrian Zmed.....uh...I mean a fun weekend with friends. Not too bad for a second true week out here on the west coast. Alright time to great ready for the day and catch my flight. I will blog with you later.

I noticed Syracuse doesn't seem to be going to the NCAA's, I must have missed their name somewhere, I know they were ranked before the season began. Hmmm... must have been an oversight. Maybe the NCAA tourney organizers didn't want classless fans who rush the court before the end of the game to be in the tourney.
Wow, I don't know who this commenter who came before me was, but he sure was erudite. Handsome too!
Have you ever noticed that niceguysma sounds like "Nice Guys Ma" or something an Italian girl would tell her mom to justify going out with a trio of guys to hit the night clubs on the Jersey shore.... these are nice guys ma!
Why not nice guy Scott or something?
So, what we'll be calling on is good ol’ fashion blunt force trauma. Horsepower. Heavy-duty, cast-iron, piledriving punches that will have to hurt so much they'll rattle his ancestors. Every time you hit him with a shot, it's gotta feel like he tried kissing the express train. Yeah! Let's start building some hurtin' bombs!
